Mike McLaughlin

CEO Mike McLaughlin is a native Iowan with a strong belief in helping people. He grew up in the equipment manufacturing business and strives to support his employees and customers to achieve a better way of life.

Since the early 1990’s when he became Chief Executive Officer, Mike has elevated New Way Trucks from a small, midwestern equipment fabricator to a major manufacturer of refuse and recycling equipment with a global footprint. It is Mike’s drive and ability to cut costs and streamline production that has outpaced competitors, maximized market share, and driven returns to record highs for each company in their respective industry.

In 2017, he was recognized by the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) as the Member of the Year. Mike is a long-standing member of the NWRA Suppliers Board of Governors, and in 2022 was awarded the NWRA Suppliers Distinguished Service Award for his consistent support of the association. Also in 2022, Mike was named to serve on the Environmental Education & Research Foundation (EREF) Board of Directors, where he’s part of a select group of industry professionals that reviews and approves funding for research and education initiatives in line with the Foundation’s mission to advance sustainable solid waste science.

During this same period, Mike has demonstrated his ability to acquire, integrate, and turn companies around with the successful acquisitions of nearly a dozen bankrupt or underperforming entities. In doing so, he has been able to diversify the organization from a focus in the solid waste industry to a portfolio of family companies that also includes automotive sales and service, mobile veterinarian and animal control equipment manufacturing, and automotive parts & car care products distribution and sales.
