Kim Goetsch serves as the Chief Impact Officer for McLaughlin Family Companies. She has worked with McLaughlin Family Companies in an official capacity for the past five years, but grew up learning the family business at an early age by tagging along to work with her father, founder John McLaughlin. Kim grew up in nearby Glidden, Iowa and graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Office Management and earned a BA in Biblical Studies from Vision Christian Bible College.

She has been blessed with the opportunity to participate in mission trips in Haiti, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Ecuador, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, and Albania. Kim oversees McLaughlin Family Companies charitable giving in support of ministries and missionaries around the world in addition to the community-based programs we support.

Before coming back home to Iowa, Kim spent 25 years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota working as a church administrator and then managing a healthcare system’s wellness center.

As Chief Impact Officer, you can find Kim planning charitable programs that give back to our communities. These include – but are not limited to – our annual Outstanding Educator Awards, Random Acts of Kindness Day, Pay it Forward Day, and the McLaughlin Family Companies Driving Goodness initiative. The aim of Driving Goodness is to help those who need it most in our communities in both Iowa and Mississippi.

In addition, she fills her days planning employee appreciation programs, like our annual Employee Children’s Christmas Party, our company Christmas party, and monthly events and activities throughout the year.

Kim also established an Employee Crisis Fund to provide employees going through devastating life events the necessary resources to help they and their families through tough times.

When she’s not working, Kim enjoys going on hiking and biking adventures with her husband, Steve. She also loves every opportunity she gets to spend time with her three children.
