Lake City, Iowa is a community of approximately 1,700 peoples and is located 25 miles from McLaughlin Family Companies’ headquarters in Scranton, Iowa.
The Lake City Town Square provides a unique shopping experience from wood craftsmen and handmade pottery to unique gifts, quilting supplies, flowers, wedding/party supplies and furniture. Central School, built in 1884, along with the Carnegie Library, Community Building and several residences are on the National Register of Historic Places. Lake City really does have it all… except for a lake.
A great community for people of all ages, many locally owned businesses thrive and attract tourists to town with a number of city-sponsored events. Some top attractions and events include, Fall Festival & The Dell Blair Memorial Chili Cook-Off, The Christmas Festival, and Jazz in the Park.
