New Way Trucks Hires Mike Dryden as Director of Export Sales

04.25.12

Scranton, IA – New Way Trucks has hired a well-known waste industry veteran as part of an effort to boost international sales. Mike Dryden, who formerly sold internationally for McNeilus and Leach, began work for New Way on April 2. Dryden will be responsible for increasing New Way’s presence with dealers across the globe while working with various US and foreign chassis manufacturers on special international projects.

Dryden was attracted to New Way because of the company’s record for rapid growth and felt his experience could quickly bring that same growth to the international market. The company has become one of the top refuse truck manufacturers in the US and has established new dealers in Canada, but the international market remains a huge growth opportunity for New Way. Officials at New Way are looking to Dryden to help grow the company’s total sales by 20% in the next one to two years.

New Way is no stranger to worldwide sales. The company began two overseas Joint Ventures nearly 15 years ago, becoming the first American waste-vehicle manufacturer to start production in China (trucks for the Western market are still made in the USA). Other dealers are located in Puerto Rico, Barbados and Egypt. Dryden’s addition, however, is aimed at increasing the family-owned company’s global market share to compete with the top corporate-owned manufacturers in the industry.

Dryden already knew some New Way team members from his previous work experience, including Phil Allen, Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. Dryden also joins Carl Pezold and Ken Beugger at New Way, two other high-level team members who have been hired this past year. “New Way is a great company filled with great people,” Dryden stated, “I’m looking forward to helping achieve new goals as part of the team.”
