New Way® Trucks Help Community Turn Trash Into Treasure
03.31.15
Scranton, IOWA – New Way® What started out in the 1960s as a way to bring a service to its few hundred residents has grown into an independent, profitable business for a Lions Club chapter in Etowah, N.C. This enterprise has, literally, been a treasure trove for the small North Carolina community.
In 1974, Etowah Lions Services became incorporated, and has been turning a profit and donating funds to the area ever since. Grossing more than $500,000 a year, they are debt free and own three garbage trucks, including several 11yd New Way® Vipers. Just this past year, the company has turned Etowah’s trash into $24,000 in dividends to the local Lions Club, that they will turn into another treasure for their community.
